Clay Duke was a troubled, broke ex-con with bipolar disorder, an interest in anarchy, a wife whose unemployment benefits had run out and frustrations that reached their boiling point on a day circled on his calendar at home. He apeared in a school board meeting dimissing everyone but 6 men he felt were responsible for the firing of his wife. Shots were fired but none of the school board was killed, only Duke who was killed in shootout with security.
I think the man was obviously troubled and has faced a hard life and that is made evident with his present situation before he died. He suffered from bipolar disorder which was likely the main cause of the outburst. Do you think that this situation could have been avoided and if it was how should a situation like this be handled or prepared for in the future.

Week 17
There has been recent discussion about the legitamacy of Cam Newton winning the Heisman trophy after recent problems brought up that he was involved in a money scam with other teams. There have been talks that some voters will not have his name on the ballot when time comes to vote. Although this may be true, he is still the frontrunner by a wide margin. With this is mind there is no telling if others are to be influenced into not voting for him either after the Reggie Bush incident.
I think that because of the talent that Cam Newton is on the field he will be the winner of the award. I do think that this scam has taken away some voters but not enough to the point he will lose. Do you think that this conflice might turn into something more and he will lose or will it only sway some of the voters into not voting for him?

week 16
Talks in congress revealed the push for a removal of wolves from the protection of the endangered species list in the Unites States. The wolves were put on the list after a dramatic decrease in the population size over the last couple of years but now it seems that the population has reached over 1700. The worries are that the now larger population will result in an increase in livestock attacks.
I think that the wolf shoud still be protected untill it is made clear that they are at no more risk. If lifestock attacks are what is preventing the population of a species to succeed then better protection methods should be taken. Do you think that the wolf is over or under protected in its natural environment and should it remain on he endangered species list in the United States?

week 15
The European Union agreed on an 89 billion dollar bailout for Ireland and its failing economy. This bailout can prove to be the economic oush that Ireland needs to get back to a regulated economy that can grow and expand. Although this may prove to be helpful to Ireland is forces cutbacks for other nations in the Union to acount for the money.
Does this bailout prove to be an overall positive or negative for the nations of the European Union. How could this effect the other economies if the money uses isnt subsantial enough for Ireland to get back on track. Do the long term benefits outweigh the risks.

week 14
The conflict between North and South Korea has shown up again after attacks between the two nations. The North proving to be te aggressive nation intigating the attacks. The United states has shown they have the side of south korea but with a new leader in power in the north how will the situation be handled.
If the conflict intensifies what could be the possible outcome of this situation. Will the United States get involved and start a chain reaction with other nations to join the fight. Could this lead to another possible World War and a potential nuclear arms situation.

week 10
IN the upcoming weeks two college football teams are scheduled to play their regular season games at baseball stadiums to increase publicity. These two teams are Northwestern against Illinois and Notre Dame vs Army. Army and Notre Dame continue their rivalry at Yankee Stadium while Northwestern and Illinois play at historic Wrigley Field.
Do you think the location of these games while effect the TV ratings and how many people show up. These teams are both playing at historical sites and are already for the most part sold out. Does this show an increased interest in playing at neutral locations in college football.

week 12
After many people turned out to vote, the rerebulblicans came out with a strong majority of the vote. Is this change a result of what has been occurig in the country over the last couple of years or is it directly related to Obama's presidency. Why have so many people wanted a shift in ploicies and the way the vountry is being run?
I think that the reason the Rebublicans made such a strong comeback after the elections is a mixture of the factors. Many people arent happy with the situation that the country is in and they decided to vote against the policies that are in effect right now. I also think that people are unhappy with the way the decisions the the Obama administration has made lately and they are attempting to do what they can to voice that it needs to change.
